On Tuesday and Wednesday, 17 and 18 June 2025, our school hosted a creative and technologically exciting workshop, "Introduction to 3D modelling and 3D printing", for the children of school staff – pupils of primary and secondary school age.
The workshop was designed as an introduction to the world of 3D technologies, with the aim of encouraging creativity, technical literacy and an understanding of the modern technologies that shape our everyday lives.
Through a series of practical and interactive activities, the participants had the opportunity to:
Learn the basics of 3D modelling in the simple Tinkercad tool
Explore more advanced design options in Fusion 360
Get to know the Bambu Studio slicer, where they prepared their models for printing
Take an active part in operating a BambuLab A1 mini 3D printer
Design and print their own 3D object
Discuss real applications of 3D printing at school, in everyday life and in industry
The atmosphere was extremely encouraging – from curious questions to delight at the first printed objects, which the children took home as a lasting reminder of their first steps in the world of 3D technology.
We thank all participants for their commitment and enthusiasm, with special thanks to the colleagues who helped organise and run the workshop. We look forward to future workshops and new generations of young innovators whom we will encourage to create and explore in STEM fields!
