Young Innovators Club

Excellence is not born, it is learned.

About the club

The Young Innovators Club (hereinafter: the Club) was founded by the School Board of Vocational School Velika Gorica at its 74th session on 23 September 2024 to run extracurricular and out-of-school leisure activities for students.

The Club is based at Vocational School Velika Gorica, Ulica kralja Stjepana Tomaševića 21, Velika Gorica.

The Club is not a legal entity, but it has its own founding document (Rules of Procedure of the Club) and works independently.

The Club may join city, county and national associations of innovators that are legal entities.

The tasks of the Club are to:

  • bring together the School's teachers and students, within the curriculum or in extracurricular and out-of-school activities, in programmes that organise, encourage and develop young people's technical creativity,
  • encourage the development of technical culture and education and the popularisation of science and technology and their application, to support a better understanding of modern technologies and the development of students' creative and innovative thinking,
  • encourage as many students as possible to take part in the Club's activities,
  • identify and work with gifted students,
  • support the technical realisation of young innovators' useful ideas,
  • promote ethical and moral principles, respect for human dignity, tolerance, non-violence and a culture of creativity.

The Club may organise its activities in sections depending on the interests of its members and in accordance with the Club's Rules of Procedure.

Membership of the Club is voluntary, and the work of the Club is public.

The Club has a leader, who is appointed and dismissed by the School Board on the proposal of the School's principal.

The Club leader is responsible for planning and organising the extracurricular and out-of-school activities that form part of the Club's tasks and keeps records of the Club's work.

The members of the Club are:

  • the Club leader and the School's teachers and professional staff who take part in the work of the Club,
  • students of the School who are members of the Club.

Funding for the Club's work and activities is provided by the School, with the possibility of using other sources of funding (the state budget, the budgets of local and regional self-government units, donations and grants).

The Club holds a meeting at least once a year and submits an annual report on its work to the School Board.
