The 11th Zagreb Crafts Fair – Careers Fair was held at the Zagreb Fair on 28 and 29 January 2026, an event that once again proved that vocational occupations are the foundation of a modern economy. Among the many exhibitors, the stand of our Vocational School was a must-see for primary school pupils from Zagreb and Zagreb County.
Innovations that are changing education
This year we decided to show that vocational education today means top technology. Our presentation focused on three key pillars of modern industry:
Additive 3D technologies: Visitors watched objects being created live with 3D printing.
Reverse engineering: We demonstrated precise 3D scanning and the conversion of physical objects into digital models.
VR technology in teaching: Through virtual reality, visitors could step into digital simulations of work processes.
Student projects: from idea to working system
What attracted the most attention were our students' innovative projects. Instead of standard school exercises, our students exhibited complex solutions combining mechanical engineering, electronics and computing:
Interactive simulation systems: Students demonstrated control units they had built themselves, which allow full immersion in simulation software and show a high level of skill in integrating hardware with computer systems.
Advanced peripherals for precision work: An ergonomically designed device for navigating 3D space was also on display, fully adapted to the needs of designers and engineers, showing a deep understanding of ergonomics and electronics.
Equipment for maintaining technological processes: A device designed to condition materials for additive manufacturing particularly stood out. With this project, the students solved a concrete technical challenge – preserving the quality of raw materials, which is essential for successful 3D printing.
"Our students don't just learn how to operate machines – they learn how to design and build complex devices that solve real problems on their own. These projects are proof of their creativity and technical maturity," said our teacher mentors.
A fair that builds careers
The fair was officially opened by the Mayor of the City of Zagreb, with the support of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Science and Education. The aim of the event – promoting crafts and vocational education – was fully achieved, and our school once again confirmed its status as a leader in educating new generations of professionals.
We thank all the students and teachers who took part in the preparations, as well as the Zagreb Chamber of Trades and Crafts for the excellent organisation.
