The webinar "Cutting tools in machining – from high-speed steel to diamond" was held on Thursday, 2 April 2026, at 9:00.
The webinar gives a systematic overview of the materials used to make cutting tools for machining processes. The materials are classified by chemical composition and physical properties, starting with traditional tool steels and high-speed steels. Particular emphasis is placed on modern cemented carbides and various types of technical ceramics. Finally, it covers superhard materials such as diamond and boron nitride, which represent the very peak of durability in industrial use. This classification makes it possible to choose the right tool precisely for the specific machining requirements and cutting geometry. We thank the teachers who attended for their attention and participation.
