Department overview
Welcome to our additive manufacturing laboratory. We are equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as SLS and PolyJet printers and industrial FDM printers with dual hotends, giving us a wide range of capabilities. Our participants and students have access to a variety of materials – from hobby polymers such as PLA, ABS, ASA and PETG to industrial materials such as polyamide, polycarbonate and filaments reinforced with carbon and glass fibres. Our SLS printer uses polyamide powder, but flexible materials such as TPU can also be printed if needed. PolyJet technology lets us print in multiple colours using photosensitive polymer resins.
Applications
The laboratory specialises in producing functional parts and prototypes, giving participants and students the opportunity to work on real projects that require precision and creativity. Whether it is a complex mechanical component or an aesthetically driven model, we empower you to test the limits of design and functionality.
Skills and opportunities
Working in 3D printing gives you highly sought-after skills such as CAD design, an understanding of materials and post-processing techniques. Our participants and students master the whole process, from concept design to the finished product, developing valuable problem-solving abilities and practical experience with advanced manufacturing technologies. These skills open doors to many industries, including aerospace, automotive, healthcare, product design, architecture and even fashion. 3D printing is revolutionising these fields, and by learning with us you are preparing for an exciting future full of opportunities.
Creative freedom and collaboration
We believe in giving you creative freedom to explore your ideas and push the boundaries of innovation. Whether you are developing a functional prototype or an experimental work of art, our facilities let you bring your vision to life. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do – by working together, participants and students can share ideas, refine concepts and turn them into tangible products.
Goals for the future
Looking ahead, we aim to further expand the department's capabilities by exploring new materials, introducing hybrid technologies and building partnerships with leading industries. Our vision is to keep developing the skills of our participants and students while contributing to the continued growth and progress of 3D printing. With every project we come a step closer to breakthrough discoveries and new standards in additive manufacturing.
